Why is my F-ing car dieing when I put it in Gear? Any ideas?
Its a 91 CRX with the 1.6. Before winter hit my thermostat went out on it.The temp climbed, but didn't do any damage. Changed it out, no problem. Ever since I changed it the damn thing will start great! First crank everytime! And it runs fantastic while its warming up. The temp guage comes up to operating but I'm not getting heat anymore. Yes coolant is good, all fluids are good, and there is no indication the heater core is dead. No heat is a pain but even worse is that as soon as I take it outta park it dies and won't start again. It has to sit for like 40 minutes, cool off and then it will start. But again, as soon as I shift it from park it stalls out. It doesn't matter how hard I mash the gas to keep it running, it always dies. Have checked my plugs they are perfect, wires are good, there is no indication of a head gasket problem. Changed the oil, did a trans flush and a rad flush when did the thermo (getting ready for winter). Haven't put 1 mile on the damn thing since did all this work. And there are no fluid leaks. My garage floor is as clean as ever. Come on, someone help me out here. I love my little CRX! And have run outta possible solutions.
