Newb Question About JDM R in an EK
I'm looking to get a JDM R B18C into an EK hatch and was just wondering (more or less) what my quarter mile time might be. Car is almost completely gutted. Thanks for helping out a Newb
Man, you are way off. He said EK hatch. Not a heavy *** coupe. I drive an Si too, so there. Bench racing sucks, but the ITR weighs about 2600 lbs and they're rated at about 14.8. You have the better tranny, and a lighter car, so you're power/weight ratio should be a little better. I'd say mid-low 14's with an okay driver. Just do it and post the results
type R??? the B18C is not the type r motor, it's the GSR motor. If he said B18C5, then I would adjust my numbers to account for the ITR motor being more powerful. So, the GSR is rated at 15.5, and weighs more. So, am I still "way off"?
What's up with all of the "if I put this in my car, how fast will it go" posts?
B18C5 will probably run a low 14 with a good launch in a gutted hatch. Plenty to take on stock Cobra's.

The website is wrong and/or misleading. JDM motors don't have a number after their engine code, period.

youll be able to run 14's no problem, if your a great driver you might even be able to dip a little lower, but not promising anything, with a b18c R and some minor work, youll be able to break into 13's no problem

Oh, I'm sorry
I figured since the thread topic said JDM R, I thought he was talking about a B18C-R. Which I was right about. And a GSR will run faster than a 15.5. I know that from personal experience. Stop crying

WTF? Swap it and go to the track, then youll see what it does. Honda Integra would be Japanese son. ACURA would be US.
