Default help with using newer cluster and a electronic vss, car is running obd1 harness

i'm usually in the teg forums, i dont visit crx/ef as i dont own one or work on any much.

i'm looking for links for help with this, my freind has a 91 si, running a chipped obd1 ecu with the boomslang harness and a obd1 dizzy.

lookin for info on convertiing the cluster to a newer, say 92-5 si, or a 94+ ls

but the car is cable for the speed, whats involved in usings a electronic vss from like a 92-5 d series. I'm guessing theres gonna be a wire to the ecu, and the guage cluster gets its info from the ecu, correct? because datalogging my chipped p05 shows the speed, temps and such.

thanks for any info

you forgot the link.

and yes theres Si's in 92-5, the hatches, had sunroofs and all, the heaviest model, the only hatch with a d16z6 sohc vtec motor, your the 1st person i've seen not knowing there were 92-5 hatch si's...

96-8 didnt have one, then for the 1st time a coupe was labeled Si

i just did this in my 91 ex 4dr, here is the link i used. these directions are for 96+ clusters. for 96 and up clusters and 94+ teg clusters you will need the two large cluster plugs from 96+ civics or 94+ integras(the plugs from both cars are interchangeable - ie., i used 94 integra plugs for my 2000 crv cluster)

my link (not a write up, just a prob i ran into and pics

as for the vss, the first link should have your answer. and if you want to use 92-95 cluster (which there is no point - use a si, crv, or integra), you will have to use 92-95 civic plugs and function match the wires. g/l
