is there a difference in the type r chassis compared to the regular integras? like did they reinforce anything other than that rear subframe?

I would have to say they don't. My friend bought a Type R shell, and had LS/GSR rear black interior pieces, and they wouldn't fit with that, so we removed it. My guess is thats a Type R exclusive, but for some reason it wasn't mentioned in that diagram.
