I have been set on swapping a b16a into my hatch in place of the stock d15 w/ the 4 spd. tranny. But recently have been almost talked into swapping a b18b instead. I can get one for $1600 with the computer. The best price I've found on a b16 is 1250 not including shipping with no ecu. Just give me some opinions. I want power. I know, horsepower costs money its about how fast you want to go. I'm trying to spend under $2000 on the entire swap if i go with a b18, which i think is possible considering the price of the motor itself. help me please.

 

if the B18B is $1600 by itself, no way you can get buy for $2000 - you still need a mount kit, shift linkage, axles, knuckles/hubs and exhaust, just for starters - you really should change the timing belt and water pump on the B18, as well as front and rear seals and pan gasket - you will need to convert wiring from DPFI to MPFI

 

Yeah maybe you should think about getting a b18a from a junkyard 90-91 integra(So you dont have to convert to obd1)..Get the motor/tranny/ecu/and hubs..Get some b-series hasport copy mounts off ebay for like $100,,get an aznracemachine linkage for like $75 or cut and re-weld the integra unit..Change the timing belt and water pump like jilicrx said..

Around here you can get those complete b18a swaps/w hubs for like $400-$500..Only problem is the motor may have high miles on it seeing how its a 13+ year old car

 

1600 for a b18b is outrageous
they are about 600 out here

if you shop around you can put together the whole swap for 2 grand

they're good about having ecus and giving you EVERYTHING needed. (i have a obd0 ls ecu here)

i have a freind thats good at rewelding the integra linkage for use in 88-91s, $80 is his fee, you could have evans send the linkage to me (they run a delivery truck up my way every other week or so, and it would only cost you 80 plus shipping it to you from me(1.5 hrs from ashville nc, in tn).


you could look for the newer/better b18b from a 94-5, the swap will have the dizzy and ecu, just get a boomslang harness and wire up the stuff, and your running obd1 and a better b18b with larger intake runners for only $110 or so more

 

they also sell b16s with trannys for $1100 or so

 

Sorry guys, i smoked a massive amount of crack yesterday. the b18 i can get for $1600 is a vtec (b18c?) it comes with the ecu and wiring harness. what model integra does that come out of? So id be spending bout $200 on linkage and mounts then another $100 on axles. What kind and where can i get the knuckles/hubs? Thanks for the help. i'm very b18-retarded. ANd what is the difference between a b18a and b

Well if its a b18c1 then it comes from the usdm integra gsr,,if its a b18c5 then its from the usdm type-r,,If it just says b18c then it could either be from the jdm integta sir-g or type-r..

As far as hubs you need 88-91 dx,ex,or si hubs,you could also use some integra hubs..

90-91 b18a - pre obd,130hp,comes in the 90-91 integra
92-93 b18a - obd1,140hp,comes in the 92-93 non gsr integra
94-95 b18b - obd1,142hp,comes in the 94-95 non gsr
96-01 b18b - obd2a/b 142hp,comes in the 96-01 non gsr

Buddy you are getting RIPPED off. I can buy an LS complete for about 800$ Canadian, if the motor has low kms, even cheaper if the Kms reach then 150XXXkms.

Can you read?? he made a mistake by saying b18b,and meant to say he's getting a complete b18c swap with wiring harness for 1600..

 

and if you found a complete b18c swap, thats a hydo tranny, your 91 is a cable style, so either you buy a cable tranny or run a hydro to cable adapter from hasport or someone else
