Default HAS ANYONE EVER USED ESCROW?

If you have used escrow to make purchase, can you provide summary of how it works? I'm planning on making big purchase from someone, & I'd like to know about experience. How much does escrow cost? What occurs once you send money? What happens if item you purchased isn't what you paid for or is damaged? Thanks for info!

Used it once. It is pretty easy to use. Instruction are on http://www.escrow.com. Basically when you buy or sell something a contract is created and the money is held. Once it is recieved, the buyer has 3 or 5 days to inspect the merchandise and if it is not what was specified in the contract they can reject the merchandise and ship it back andthey will get their $$ back. It works pretty well. The escrow company even verifies the funds and verifies addresses and tracking numbers.

OK, there's 2 of you that say it takes forever. However, I'd like little more detail. Does it take long time for them to complete transaction? Does it take long time for seller to receive money? What exactly takes forever?

Ive used it. I like how i accualy get what i buy and i can see what im about to buy. I really dont care about the wait because id rather wait and know im getting it, then wait and wait and wait and never get anything.

I've used TRADENABLE.COM (formerly IESCROW.COM) and it worked great. All your ?'s can be answered at their site.

I've used it before. Although their fees are a bit steep for me, they offer the most protection for online purchases.
