why is my car running rich when its completely stock? sometimes when i first start the car, i smell gas. its completely stock though. i think this is why my mileage is *** right now.

anybody know why? i changed air filter and plugs in the fall.

 

Any CEL's? Maybe a bad 02 sensor?

Try to replace o2 sensor.

 

u would get a cel for the o2, it can be something mechanical like low compression. check your fuel return line it might be kinked or restricted or you might even have a bad fuel pressure regulator. that would cause it to run rich

 

Ditto, I had a similar problem on my CX a while ago even though everything was perfect as far as pressure. I had a mild pin hole in my rubber line right where it goes back into the tank and it made me think I was rich as hell as well. Replaced the 10 inch rubber line and smell gone.

 

maybe im leaking fuel???

 

That would be my guess, you have a leak somewhere.
