I had a 99 auto and i now have a 5sd 01. The auto sucks *****. I would get smoked all the time. Now i rape all the cars. Get the stick please. It's was a big difference in speed. I can beat a auto prelude with i/e/h and i'm stock in my 5sd.

Why?? Why turbocharge an auto?
makes no sense to me.

Let me just say that a TT Supra auto will be beaten by a TT Supra manual. Is a TT Supra TT auto gonna beat a manual Lude? Of course it will, but I am sure that the twin turbo's have nothing to do with it, right.....
A good automatic will beat a better standard anyday. Like stock for stock, TT Supra Auto vs TT Supra Manual, Auto would stomp it. While the standard is shifting the automatic still is gaining speed. But I do agree, I love sticks, they are funner and till you get in hardcore modding, they are faster.
im not really sure why we are talking about supras, as it is really apples and oranges. bottom line is that ive only heard of one decently fast ss, and it had a lot of tranmission work and 7k total in parts. but thats with a pts kit and level ten tranny upgrade.
and i meant better gas mileage, since you will have another gear (5 instead of 4)
also you will have a higher top speed, and shorter gearing
the 5 speed can have problems, but it is a whole lot easier out of the box to deal with than the ss

granted i know next to nothing about supras, but i have trouble believing an automatic would stomp a 5spd, all else being equal. i mean, the automatics shift as well, and they take much longer to shift then a good 5spd driver. heck, you can powershift and go from one gear to the next in a split second without even letting off the gas.
