Default Gauge cluster issues with 88 CRX

My stock gauge cluster in my 88 CRX has been acting up lately. The usual problem now is the cluster will turn off, the turn signal indicators and bright light warning will stay on and the seat belt reminder will beep. Also the fuel gauge needle will go all the way up and stay there and the temp gauge will momentarily go all the way up and go back to normal. The car runs great so I've been able to isolate the problem within the wiring of the gauge cluster, clock and maybe the stereo ( I don't have one in there yet ) since all them turn off and on with the cluster when the problem begins. Is there a relay that is associated with the gauge cluster the might be causing the problem and if so, where can I locate it? Is it also possible that the entire gauge cluster is done for and is just affecting the other components. If anyone knows of any other possible culprits, let me know. I have a 90-91 SI cluster that I would like to swap in but not until I find this problem.
