GAS IS NOT GAS. If you pump say Arco and Chevron, you know there is a difference between both of the gas in the way you car drives.

Gas stations in the same area almost always get gas from the same oil company anyway. Gas is gas.

when i said they watered down gas it was in pure comedy, my friends dad work at ethyl corporation , they do fuel additives for gas. the higher to octane the better it burns and more additives added in there. Compare EASt COAST GAS and CITGO to place such as TEXACO and EXXON, there are certain grades of gases that these companies get. what he told me is that aamaco has the most fuel additives but burns better.

Each oil company has its own thing about additives in their fuel blend. Gas is not just Gas. As to watered down-the term applies to fuel from the blending in the pipeline. There is a buffer between each brand and grade. That can and does sometimes get into the fule sold at off-brand stations. Sheetz is a large PA based company that buys and markets fuel from several national suppliers. It isn't top of the line like Exxon, Texaco, Shell or Sunoco (my favorite). I've run with Union 76, Sunoco and Exxon for a number of years. In its day Gulf (now Chevron) was very consistent.
The moral here is to buy the grade that YOUR car calls for from a reputable station that maintains its tanks by keeping them full of fuel so as to prevent condensation getting into the gas you are paying for.
