I'm looking for a type-sh prelude, but i dont know how much to pay. I know it's usually in the upwards of over 10. But how many miles is too much?

found one w/ 75k for 14k, a 2001

also any tips when looking at the car would be nice

ATTS isn't garbage; its only a negative when: You have 300 or more hp. Or when its time to get a clutch job since its more expensive(unless you do it yourself of course).

SH handles way better than a base lude; the prelude sh was called one of, if not the best handling fwd car under 50k(or something like that).

I don't think I would pay more than 15 at max for a 5th gen Prelude. Considering that they are 5-8 years old cars now. 15K, I would expect a mint condition under 50k or 60k mileage prelude.

find the car at places like
http://www.autotrader.com
http://www.cars.com

then goto
http://www.kbb.com

goto the used car pricing section, fill in the information of the car, and it'll give you a worth price of it. Always buy a car that is atleast $1000 cheaper than the kbb.com price quote. (meaning if somebody wants to sell the car for $9600, and kbb.com gives out a quote of like $10,200. Try to talk them down some more.)

Last year i had a '01 civic i bought for $8200, and the kbb.com price quote was around $11,200. I totaled it later on in the year, and the insurance gave me back around $11,500. Big profit right there.

And don't forget, if you're buying a car that has more than 60k mileage or closing in, make sure that it has the proper tune-up. I usually have my t-belt and water pump change around 65k. So if the seller didn't do that yet, mention that to them to lower the sell price.

a 2001 prelude with 75k is above average miles per year. Normally people put on between 10k-12k miles per year. And remember to get a carfax report to check out the history of the car. And best bet is to take it to a good mechanic to have them check everything out.

I bought a 99 SH with 92k miles, bolt ons, for $9,500. It was in mint condition. This was back in May.

Go to http://www.nada.com and plug in the info on the car, it will give you the retail value and what not. I've been told it is a more accurate source than kbb.

I have a 2000 Base with about 83,xxx miles and paid 12k for it. It's pretty much in perfect condition too. Most 5th gens go from 9K to about 15K depending on the year and milage.
