I want to take by B18c1 and bore it to 84mm and put a set of sleeves in it with 9.0:1 compression JE pistons and eagle rods. Is this a good idea? I dont know much about boring out a motor,and sleevign it. All I know is low compression is better for boost. Is it better to have more mm's when boring for boost or should I leave the block's 81mm bore alone and sleeve that. Shouls I sleeve it at all or what? What is a good set of sleeves for boost. Can somebody break it down on the best way to build a block for boost? I mean, bore it or not, sleeve it or not, compression up or down. Please help me before I ruin a great block.

If you dont have the money, do not build a motor. It is not cheap, and you do NOT want to cut any corners whatsoever. Safe compression is all in the eye of the engine builder/tuner. STRONG internals and proper clearances are key. The norm is about 9.5 to one, but like I said, thats all up to the builder. If you bore the motor, do not look to rev it very high unless it is sleeved, and if you do sleeve it, have a reputable person press the sleeves...such as Golden Eagle of Benson's in house services. If I were you, and I wanted to sleeve my motor and build it for boost (which is against my religion
), I'd try to find a spare block somewhere else for cheap and build that one, this way there's no downtime while your only motor is out of the car being built.
