Default What is a Sleeper??

How do you define a sleeper. Does that simply mean that the car looks stock? Can you have after market suspension or exhaust. Is the "JDM" civic with an advan sticker a sleeper? Where does it all end? Just want to poke at the topic.

sleeper = a car that looks pretty damn stock on the outside. but under the hood, it has a pretty good decent amount of mods.

so when people look at it, they think its slow... then they get raped by a 10 y/o civic

People dont look at my car and think it's slow. I'm not sure but I think the slicks are a dead give away. Damn All that money I wasted on my engine when I'll I needed was slicks.

Sleeper= visably stock car with a k20 under the hood. That's a perfect example of sleeper.

"if you drive a normal person"

That sound really gay, so if I'm a tard your an *** magnet. It's imposible not to spin on street tires in a drag car.

A sleeper is a car that looks stock, and is slow in stock form. It's the kind of car you won't even look twice at, but if the driver puts his foot down it'll smoke you. This is one of the best sleepers I've seen yet...I've ridden in this car personally (once, quite some time ago now) and it's a BEAST to say the least, but you'd never know just looking at it...

and under the hood...

I have a personal liking to this car...probably because back in '98 I had a turbo Volvo wagon, 2.3 turbo, solid rear axle, etc. Even as a young kid, I managed to turn up the boost and have fun with it...I wish I could afford another one, what a great car that was. It's really a shame that Volvo stopped making the 240/740/940 series and started making POS's...

in my eyes, its impossible for a civic to be a sleeper nowadays. too many of them just gave us all away. a sleeper would be my buddy's 240sx.. rb26dett under the hood. stock wheels stock rust and his muffler hangs down and scrapes on the floor at times.
another buddy of mine is trying to figure out how to stuff the motor out of his wrecked itr into his dd kia.

edit: ^^^that volvo is the PERFECT sleeper.
