ITR Expo Raffle? *feeler*
Hello Everyone,
I'm trying to put some numbers together for management to ok a few things to help with the Expo this year.
On top of the normal sponsorship, I wanted to get together a raffle for a "Complete B18C5 Engine with transmission."
Judging by the number of participants last year, we can get the raffle tickets as low as $25 and worse case scenario tickets would run about $50.00 per ticket.
Now I want to get a feeler on this. I want to know how many people would be interested in something like this. Whether or not we should open this up to Expo members alone or to any Honda Tech member. Regardless, the drawing will be held at the Expo and the winner would have the option of taking the motor home with them or have it drop shipped to them.
A little info on the engine. The transmission will be the only thing that is separate. The Entire longblock will be completely assembled with valve cover and timing belt. It's pretty much a drop in replacement. There will be no clutch assembly, intake manifold, exhaust manifold, fuel rail, throttle body..etc. Just a bare long block. This will give you more options to customize the engine to your liking.
Now this poll is a little tricky. I want you to vote the "maximum" amount of money you would personally pay for a ticket. Of course you may purchase as many tickets as you please to increase your odds.
Again this is only a *feeler* to see how many people will be interested so we may figure out if we can absorb the cost. Any additional profits will be donated.

Len after having discussed this with you last night i started asking some other members and the concensus i got is that $25 a chance would sell better then $50.
<--- very excited about our sponsors this year

I agree. $25 is more cost friendly. However you do understand that at $25 a ticket we need more raffle entries.

I think the raffle should be exclusive to Expo attendees.
Either price would be fine, I would spend the same amount of money whichever price the tickets were.

I strongly agree with you on this Mike. It wouldn't be something special for the Expo if anyone can jump in. I want to pull the ticket, call the winner's name, and watch [pc = them] accept his prize.

I'm an expo n00b... would the raffle that you pay for be just for the longblock, or would it be for other items as well? Or is the entrance into the normal raffle free?

The raffle for the longblock would be independent from the banquet raffle, which is included with the price of the banquet fee.

The higher the price of the raffle ticket, the less people who will be inclined to enter the raffle and the higher the chances of winning for those who do enter.
I would like to see this limited to Expo participants only. Great incentive to get people to sign up and register.
I voted for $50 and up

$25 tickets would obviously sell better.
To increase total $ amount, offer two raffle tickets for $50...etc.
My $.02

EDIT just read the entire first post

I believe that $25 would be better for the sponsors (more tickets) as $50 would be better for the raffle entrees since there will be a greater chance of winning (fewer tickets)
