my lude has a mind of its own...HELP!!!
ok well im thinkin it is a main relay, but im not sure. my 94 prelude si just decides to start when it wants to. it only seems to start when it is cold out like early in the morning when i leave for school. but then i let it sit at school all day and when it starts to heat up outside and go to start it after school it doesnt start. it turns over and tries to fire up but it wont, it just keeps stuttering. and then ill have to wait til later at night when it gets cooler out and then maybe it will start. sometimes it doesnt even start then, i just leave it sit over ngiht and then it ususally starts the next morning.
ANY IDEAS????

turn the key to the on postion the check engine light should go on for 2 sec then go off. if the light doesnt go off it is most likely your main relay. take it out solder it put it back in simple.
your tach never jumps around does it?

Main Relay...and it's not THAT expensive from Honda either. What happened to mine was...the heater pipe broke under my driver's wheel and the heat went straight up ainto the main relay and fried the ******. THen it would only start when cold...took me 3 months to figure it was the relay.

its the main relay. When its real warm out the metal prongs dont touch, when its cold....well, the opposite.
Very common in old accords especially (I used to work in Honda Part and we would replace 5 of these a day)
