Default Built H22 running STOCK MUFFLER?????????

I have a fully built H22A vtec motor, here are the goodies:

Skunk2 cams
Skunk2 gears
Skunk2 Valvetrain
JDM Pistons
Ported and Polished Intake Manifold
Full MSD Ignition
AEM Fuel Rail
AEM Fuel Regulator
440cc Injectors
Quaiffe LSD Tranny Custom built
Intake, Headers, 2.5 inch piping to a high flow cat to a STOCK PRELUDE MUFFLER!!!

Heres my question, how much HP gains or power gains am I looking at if I switch to a straight through performance muffler? I feel like the car is choking at high rpm's and it feels restricted

JDM Pistons????????

...............are you running the type-s pistons, or the 10.6:1 pistons?.......

What stage cams are you running..........
what Headers are you running?..........
Also - from the cat to the muffler, is that all stock piping also?...........

i've dynoed a similar motor to yours, with an rsx-s muffler on vs. no muffler, same 2.5" catback piping.

there was up to a 10hp loss from about 5k and up.

and your motor seems to be a stock motor with some cams and springs, how is it "fully built"

yup i'd say anywhere from 5-10hp up top.

i dyno'd with a stock cat and a less than free flowing muffler, tuner said it was costing me about 10-12 hp.

Believe it or not, the RSX-S mufflers flow VERY well. Doug from hondata actually compared this muffler to a few others and I believe it may have put out 1whp less than 2 of the other 'brand name' mufflers.

i have said it before and said it again, stop trying to sound like you know something

the gases flow out of the head, the pipe that connects the head to the exhaust is a header, there are as many of these pipes as there are cylinders, hence the term headers

to the poster: whether you have a built motor or not, the stock muffler is restrictive and putting on a straight through or higher flowing one will pick up horse, regardless of mods
