Default comp ratio in reference to boost?

i have been searching for about and hour my plans are a boosted ls or gsr bottome end with a built b16a head. power goals in mind at least 400whp.

ok my confusion from what i read not very many people run lower than 9.0 to 9.5 c/r now i can agree that you can tune a high c/r engine to 400whp with boost

but wouldn't it be better in theory to run lower c/r and more boost by better i mean easier tune, better power curve, and easier to do on pump gas????

or am i a completly WRONG?????

i've always seen it the same way that u do also. i have a 8.5:1 c/r motor myself and it does pretty good. its not a turbo4 car just a street car. i made 380 with an ls with a drag mani drag turbo @18 psi (pump gas). i just upgraded to a sc61 and spoolin performance (ramhorn) manifold and aquamist water injection so we will see what happens next dyno. if anybody does have a good knoladge on this subject i would like to hear also.

I've been told that 9:1 is ok for pump gas and 400 hp. Also heard higher comp. helps spool up faster.

H22, 10:1, gt30. 400 whp @ 16psi but with race gas. Planning on reducing CR to 9.4:1 to run pump gas.

can't you help spool faster with a smaller turbo i am am just looking at this with pump gas in mind i still drive it on the street and i would like to make that kind of power on pump gas does any one else know how comp ratio affects your ability to make power on pump gas vs. turbo lag from low c/r

ive been told by several people they like the high compression in the honda f.i. motors. if you have a b18c1 block and b16a head which is what i was gonna do. the compression is really high 9's or low 10's im not sure to be exact with you. but if you do it right i dont think you should have a problem with running a higher compression as long as you tune accordingly.

Well...I'm not sure how smart it is or what I might be knock limited at, but I am throwing 9.5:1 pistons in an LS block with a GSR head (Which should bring me up roughly to 10.0:1 comp).

I'd like to see 400-450 on pump but we'll see. Thinking water injection might be a nice way to raise my knock limit.
