si has shorter gears...ls has longer....if you go turbo..rpms would fly up really quick...so its basically all in what you want....with the si..im sure you will beat more cars from redlight to redlight with the si tranny because of the distance and short gears....but on the track the ls might pull topend from the longer gears..correct me if im wrong......to me..id sell both trannys and get a gsr....right inbetween both

I have a ls tranny in my 95 b20 turbo and I really like it. Great for highway use, but it still goes through the gears quite fast.

Topic's been beat to death more times than I care to remember. The final census is b16>GSR>LS in terms of acceleration. So basically you'll get the quickest ET's in the 1/4 mile with the b16 tranny.

keep the b16 transmission. just learn how to upshift/downshift quicker.

what kind of racing do you do more??? if you said highway i would go with the LS or GSR, but if you are more into stoplight racing then go with the B16 tranny...

or if you want even shorter gears than the Si, go with a Type R tranny

but i would go with a GSR, it seems to be the sweet spot in the transmissions

hope this helped

ask around. shops, friends, junk yards. Going price is about $500 i believe? (atleast in CA it is) I'm pretty sure you can get it cheaper if you really look.
