Where to drain and fill manual tranny on 90 accord lx
My 90 accord lx started to do this funny "wine" when I hit speeds over 40 mph. This wine gets louder and slightly higher pitched when I get up to 80 mph. I did search and found another thread with someone whom had the exact same problem... only they did not post the cause or fix. That being said... I am going to replace the MTF, but I am not sure where to drain and refill the fluid. I have taken some pics and labled the plugs in the pics. There are no hex plugs, only 3 square hole plugs and 2 regular bolt plugs.
Thanks for your help

You use the sqaure part of a 3/8" drive rachet to get the drain bolt out.
To fill it...
Some people have filled it by removing the VSS and using a long funnel. Personally, I went to the parts store and bought one of those tubes that screw onto the MTF fluid bottle. The tube has a shut off valve so it doesn't spill when you are putting the hose into the fill hole. Once the hose is in the fill hole, open the valve on the tube and fill the tranny until the fluid comes to the bottom of the fill hole. Make sure your car is as level as possible.

DO NOT use gear oil aka 80w90...USE honda mtf or 10w30 oil
The whine is probably just differential wear , usually nothing to worry about

The thing about the wine... is that I noticed it for the first time monday. I am very keen as to how my cars are acting. This car is my daily driver. I prety mutch monitor everything on it.
Also... I see that some here like penzoil syncromesh. Would this work?
