Default timing with aftermarket cams: do i do anything different?

im about ready to do my timing/valves for my dohc zc it's a semi-built motor....and for the head i got performance valves and springs and i got delta regrind cams (260/272)

so do i need to do anything different when i set my timing or make my valve adjustment?

Depending on the cam, most aftermarket cams require the engine to be Zero'd out and valve clearences checked (this is what a good motor builder/machine shop does).

I beleive it is zero it out, assemble it all at TDC and set adjust the valves to OE spec, then tune timing from there once its all assembled and clearance is right.
