Default Which Carbon Fiber company is better??

The reason I'm posting this is because I need to do a 99-00 front conversion on my 1997 civic and I'm trying to find a hood and eye lids, etc.
But the problem i'm encountering is that everyone telling me not to purchase certain CF companies and what not.

I've heard from a friend on E46fanatics forum, that people on there claim that VIS is shitty and rather go for Fiber Images but on honda-tech I've seen positive responses regarding VIS so I'm not sure which company is so called "better."

I'm hoping someone could post their personal experiences with these companies, or refer me to other companies. And yes I even went to each site to see if I could find out more info but obviously each company is going to say they make the best CF out there or what not, thats why I asked around and went to other forums, but I just need more input.

And excellent fitment

what he is saying is that most hoods latches are fiberglassed on, which isnt very strong, and over time can break down and pop up and hit your windshield.

Anyway, Does anybody know about Seibon Latches? are they fiberglassed on also? anybody have a JDMCarboy one? the latch is bolted down and seems like a good choice also, but id want to know about fitment...

i like my vis. fitment is as good as it can get. my only complaint is where the "underskin" is glued to the carbon itself, from the top you can sort
of see the glue it sort of like a little wave. i dont know a better way to explain
it. maybe someone else can do better. either way i'm happy
also you should use pins

My personal experience with a VIS CF hood -
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1206282
Definitely look for a guarantee if you can in case you have similar troubles.

I also did the 99-00 front end conversion. It worked out very well and the VIS fitment was good. I'd still go with Seibon next time around.

Thanks alot janarki, really needed that input and the pictures helped alot. I'm probably gonna stick to Seibon for the hood and I guess VIS is still good but like all products, there are always defects now and then so can't expect it all to be 100%.

Just don't go with ABS Dynamics.

I have a Mugen style lip from them, and when I got it, it was all contorted and twisted, not to mention directions and fitting pieces didn't exists. Fitment was a slight issue aswell... being contorted. In the end I got it on and it looks great, but I won't be buying anything else from them.

You are never going to get a straight answer, everyone has their own opinions, and NO dealer will gurantee a 99 civic hood fitting a 97 w/conversion.

Ive had a VIS ZC hood for over 3 years now. All kinds of abuse, including rubbing on a valvecover, rubbing on the hood, not the skelleton. The rubbing applied pressure under engine torque, and heat..

hood looks perfect, fits excellent too.

VIS

I guarantee that Seibon did 10 times more to help that mod, than ViS ever would have done. But the reaason these companies do not just automatically replace the items is because everything comes off the same mold for that specific application. If the hood fit 5,000+ other cars, why wouldnt the hood fit his car? Then there's reasoning behind installation, accidents, other modifications. And I'm pretty sure it wasn't Seibon direct, but the company selling to the mod.
