Default I have learned the hard way.....

Well, I have deffinitly learned my lesson from ebay. I just have to vent. Nothing more nothing less. I jsut thought the ITR family is the only place I can do this. But anyhow, I purchased a pair of JDM ITR Recaro's from a company on ebay. Well, the guy kept telling me the Integra was being help up in customs. I will say that he was a very nice guy and kept me up to date weekly. Well that was in the beginning of September. I finally got my seats today, and they were the Recaro Srd's. They sent me the wrong seats. Now i paied 1200 for the JDM Recaro's. Not a good price, not a bad price. Now I called the guy back basically in a rage and he promised he would call me back tonight with the problem resolved. I just hope I don't end up losing 1200 on this. It has been a headache for the last 2 months. I just had to vent because I'm pretty pissed at the moment. Anyhow, thanks for listening.

I'll keep it posted as I hear the news tonight.

All I know is the seller's name is Joe. B. The srd's were shipped from the shop by the name of Osaka Japanese Auto Parts INC. The adress is 8155 Boul Langefier Saint Leonard, PQ HIP2B7 CA. Anyone familiar with it and knows about its reputation?

Lot's of shady stuff on ebay these days. Nothing big not car related, I ordered a desk lamp off some site, I ended up getting it 3 months later. I had to report the dude to ebay and paypal as well, it finally came and I got an e-mail saying the guy was in the hospital for some time and he couldn't get to his orders. Then I read all the negative feedback, there was excuse after excuse after another...

As far as I'm concerned eGay has pretty much ruined the whole import scene. Ask any reputable shop owner.

Now that I think about it, you're probably right. Are parts available at cheaper prices? Yes, but its probably at the cost of the community feeling of a shop. Then there is the fact that it makes stealing parts and selling them easier. Oh yeah, and people get scammed... Ebay

eBay is alright, just watch the feedback...

and

-beware of hijacked accounts
-misrepresented merchandise
-stolen merchandise
-buyers lying and saying they never received the item that you shipped them
-a$$hole sellers shill bidding the prices up
-people that ship your item WAY late and blame the post office for the delay
-knock off items listed as the real thing
-I'm sure I could go on...

but yeah no big deal.

ebay is like any other market place. just have to be careful, educate yourself and research. i go to every step i can imaginably take before i hit that "pay" button. there are some honest good sellers out there still, i'm one of them. you just cannot guarantee full protection anywhere and you probably will get burned eventually, i have. just make sure to do your best.

good luck man. sounds like you paid market price and with all out HT sponsers here with many vouches from past buyers, i am really surprised you went out into the unknown. jdm recaros are almost always in stock whenever i browse thru sponser's shops on honda-tech.

At least you got seats. I paid $600 for a seat that never even arrived. I tried everything to get the cops involved, but they wouldn't do anything. I was pretty freaking pissed.

I will say, the customer service of this import shop seems to do very well. They called me this evening. He promised I would have my ITR Recaro's by friday, and all I have to do is leave the other ones right where they are and the shipping company will pick them up from my house. Now this sounds all nice and easy but I will believe it when they arrive on friday. Thanks guys for all the support. When they arrive on Friday (hopefully), I will take pics of them for you guys to see.

please make sure you are there to greet the shipping company with the seats you are to suppose to get from the shipping company. you have a right to inspect items before recieving items and before signing the "recieved shipment form" inspect them and leave the wrong seats inside the house. do not sign anything until you have properly inspected it.

then once everything is good, do the exchange. you also have the right to be able to contact the shipping company themselfs to "plan a recieving date" basically you call them and let them know if they have a deliver to you address they look it up on their list to verify when that particular truck will be there. this way you have a general time frame to be home.....

Thats a great idea, however the guy told me the company will be here to pick up my seats tomorrow and my ITR Recaro's are supposed to come friday. Also, when they arrived today, they were jsut waiting on my porch. They didn't have me sign for them or anything.
