best coaxial speakers for system without amps
Im looking to buy the kenwood 500ez. It pushes 22x4 rms. Could u guys give me advice on what speakers to get if i want to run them with just the headunit, no amp. I don't want it to be over powered or under powered and i want the best sound possible, duh. tia
I run an Alpine HU and Eclipse 6.5" 2ways front and rear in my 94 LS and although extensive work was done to mount the speakers to get the best possible sound out of them, I run no amps or subs and am using the stock speaker wire, the SQ and bass response is very good......

The type of speaker really doesn't have much to do with not having any highs... A midbass driver will produce highs if highs are fed into it... Granted, they're not gonna be bright and clear like a tweeter but they'll still be there... If you don't want highs coming through, you'll need a crossover of some kind...
