Ticking noise comming from valves?? * Searched *
hey everybody, i gotta 93 prelude vtec (h22) and when i rev it up it makes a ticking noise that's comming from top of the head , i'm guessing it has to do something with valves, i searched all kins of phrases and i coldn't find anything, so could you tell me what could it be and is this dangerous for the engine's health? BTW the car has a rebuilt bottom end but i think head wasn't touched and the car has 177K on the chassis

Ticking?
1. Valves need adjusting
2. Valves ticking because of bad gas
3. Detonation...similar sound to valves
4. ....I can't think of anything else that sounds like ticking valves.

bad gas could be one of the reasons cuz my mom's car does it my dad's car does it, my civic did , i kno few other people that hey're engines are doing the same thing couple more questions, is this dangerous for the engine when racing or driving normal cuz i use premium only? 2. what is that head lift kit and are those expensive?
