very common, it is called a ls/vtec motor, use the search option and you will find a ton of information on it.

when done rite, but for the people that just slap a b18c or b16 head on it wont do much.

go to the seach option and type in ls/vtec, then hit the archive button, grab a bowl of popcorn and a pop and sit back and get ready to read

first of all, how common is it for people to call it V-TEC, VTECH, V-TECH or any other wrong form of the word? its VTEC, nothing more, nothing less, just those 4 capitalized letters. anyways, if you are able to answer tht question, yur able to answer yur own question, its not uncommon, i am actually about to have my Y8 head rebuilt then dropped onto a D15B7 myself

V-TECH makes alot of cool stuff but it's kinda crappy. They make answering machines, telephones, cordless phones, headsets, tape players, etc. I'd buy Sony or Panasonic phones before I'd get a V-TECH model.

its worth it. yea you loose a lil tq over the ls, but pick up more hp. also the vtec tq curve stays relatively flat from 5k-about 7k. the ls peaks and drops like friggin rock. to be done properly though its more money than you might think. just weigh your options out.
