Default brand new jdm d15b burning coolant

i swapped a jdm d15b into my coupe and ever since the first time it warmed up i can smell burning coolant coming out the tail pipe.

i did a bunch of tests and its almost been a month now and nothing is happening. i only had to add a little coolant once. compression, leakdown, pressure test, oil... everything checks ok. i also checked the iacv.

compression: 205-210 psi accross
leakdown was perfect and no bubbles in the coolant.

If it was the headgasket your oil would be a milky coffee color and the car would consistently overheat. Does that for subarus anyways...

i stick my nose in the tailpipe and i can smell it, and thats the only place i can smell it. it stinks whenever i get out of the car... took me a while to figure out its coming from the tailpipe.

its possible that your theromostat isnt opening up all the way and its just boiling your coolant

no white smoke is noticeable... again ive only had to add once. it just STINKS REALLY BAD. people tell me they smell burning coolant. its definitely coming out the tailpipe and not burning or leaking anywhere else.

you cant just drop that motor in you have to change a few parts. change your thermostat and obviosly you have a pin hole leak somewhere thats leaking on your exhaust pipe. find white stains on your engine bay, that would be an indication that coolant leaked and burned there.

you didnt pay attention to the post, i said its burning coolant through the combustion chamber. and yes i can just drop a motor in, the maintenance is over rated. i didnt even change the plugs/wires. timing belt i agree with because its 15 year old rubber. i have no smell or signs of coolant leaking under the hood.

If coolant is burning with A/F mixture in the cylinders, why don't you have white smoke? Also, what type of exhaust setup are you running? How many miles on the cat? And please, describe the actual smell you're smelling.

its very little, like i said i only had to add coolant once. the smell is sweeter then just the smell of coolant but smells like coolant still. the exhaust is stock oem (new).
