Default Need help ASAP: in process of build

Ok, short story is this, I had a guy "rebuild" my head. But to find out later he didnt know what he is doing...got my head back...and a whole box of bolts. The only thing steering me in the right direction to put my head back together is my Honda manual (the big thick blue one).

Engine: B16a3 from my 1994 honda del sol vtec

Ok, current problem: I went through and did a inventory on all my parts. I am missing 1 dowel pin out of the 2 needed to connect the head to the block. I was TOLD that dowel pins are only made to hold the head in place with no head studs in it and I could get away with just using 1. Is this true? If so I used the one dowel pin I had and used it on the passenger side of the head.

If not. I need to stop what I am doing and wait 2 weeks (what the honda dealership told me it would be). I called advanced auto and autozone, they don't carry it.

Thanks,
Nate S.

I'm not sure of the full correct answer but for years upon years upon years honda engines have used two dowel pins ( maybe more... dunno ) so I'd stick with the correct number instead of second guessing.
Check out a wrecking yard.. maybe they'll have one and save yourself two weeks

Dont ever assemble a head/block or block/trans without using both dowels.

I know the D series has dowels in the tranny - block surface. I know those are the same because I have used them in a head.
