Whats the best year h22...
What's the best year H22a to use with my 1996 Accord Coupe (F22). I was wondering because I saw hmotorsonline.com doesn't have the 97-2001 engines and I was kinda disappointed. I was hoping if I got like a 2001 engine it would have the least miles. (not sure though)
I know what OBD1 and OBD2 is but I have OBD2 since I have a 96 right? So which Prelude engine is better for my Accord? Thanks for your help!

Sorry one more question: I need the "complete changeover" they have right? Is that all I need? I found an old thread that most people voted hmotorsonline as the best place to get an engine.

no offense, but I think it would be in your best interest to do alot more research about the h22 swap in to the accord. It may just sound real easy cause everyone on here that has done it, is and was fairly knowledgeable. However, swaps can get very hairy at times and I think it would be best if you spend some time to find someone to do or help you with the swap. If you do it your self I would say to talk to people at length on the main points and concerns of the swap to run into as little trouble as possible. But to answer your question the engines are the same essentially other than usdm and jdm. Jdm youll have a bit more power due to compression and a couple other things but the engines are essentially the same powerplant. Yes its a bit more difficult in the 96-97 with and obd1 motor but it can be done, it is done and its the one I did and learned alot the hard way(not to say that it is extremley difficult), so I hope if you have done or will do your studying that way it will be a great experience for you.
Thanks P. I sent you an email too, if you get a chance to help me out I'd appreciate your input so much.

No I didn't plan on swapping myself but I did want to choose the best possible engine/tranny because hmotorsonline.com only carries OBD1 h22's unless I get the type-s which is $3600 before shipping to TN. I've been reading nothing but positive reviews of their engines and service, therefore opted to purchase from them and use my Honda guy to perform the swap. Thanks tho.

Here's an interesting site, not only for the engines listed - but the installation guides as well
