Default tranny feel in 06 civic

after test driving the 06 civic yesterday i could only notice that the shifter in the car i drove was kinda loose. when pulling the shifter to the left in neutral it would not "snap" back to deadcenter. there was a lot of free play from middle to left but had no problem returning to deadcenter after being released from the right side of neutral. did the sales man try to sell me a beat up civic or are they all like this?

mine does that, its looser when you pull it to the left, but is stiffer going to the right.

i really dont know why, but i havent had any problems, i even tried it on other civics while i was in the lot when i was getting my pedal inspected and they did it too.

the civic you drove was fine, unless all of these civics had some kind of major tranny issue, which i hope isnt the case
