Default Compression test and failed ignition coil

If your ignition coil failed while doing a compression test, would you think it was a coincidence?
Also, I bought a coil for I think an Accord, and it looks exactly the same, in every detail except the writing and coloration, including weight, so is safe to assume it is equivalent?

Well, as it happened, I had actually just pulled all the spark plugs out to look at them, so all the plug wires were already out of the way, and then the compression test was suggested, and then performed. So, no, I did not pull any fuses.
What do you mean it isn't being discharged?

For future reference, you should unplug your distributor and main relay before you perform a compression test. But any b,d,h, or f series obd1 up internal igniton coil will work as a replacement
