Default Quick Release and Lock - How effective are they?

I was thinking about picking up an NRG Quick Release and lock, but do you guys know how effective they are?

I'd imagine having the lock on top of the quick release would be a good way to prevent theft, but do you guys know how effective they are?

Any and all comments would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Not entirely effective as a security device on it's own. You still need several more layers of security to protect the car, and for the money/effort/inconvenience of a removable steering wheel, they just don't stand up to the alternatives.

Well concealed alarm (not beneath dash) (2 way paging, code hopping), additional sensors, well concealed siren, battery backup module, seperate kill switch, common sense

As a layer they are OK. but what the hell do you do with it when your taking a hot date to dinner and a movie. sir may I check your steering wheel, LOL. And what the hell do you do if you leave it in the car and some crackhead "smash and grabs" it, you will have to carry a pr. of Vice Grips just like the crooks do. 94

if you dont want to spend the money, do the removable wheel because that helps a **** load

Also add a fuel pump kill switch and possibly a starter kill switch

Make them tow it if they want it

One or two hidden "kill" switch's would be cheaper and more effective. 94
