Cloudy Headlights
I apologize in advance for such a noobish question.
My left headlight needs cleaning because it's a little cloudy

Does anyone know how to remove the goopy stuff that seals the front headlight cover to the main housing?

It's like a tar glue and I'm thinking of heating it up. Any suggestions?
Also, to remove the entire headlight housing, what other bolts do I need to remove other than the 2 immediately visible ones on top?
Has anyone cleaned their headlights before? Thanks

with all that effort spent on posting pictures... a simple search would have yeilded answers.

to sum things up, you can remove your headlights, there are 2 additional 10mm bolts hidden on under the bumper. in order to get the seal apart from the light, you have to bake the housings in the oven.
are you sure the haze is inside the lense or outside?

yah bake your headlight for 5 mins @ 250degrees they should come off, but be carefull dont pull to fast dont pull to hard... if its stilll hard rebake as needed.
also besides the two visible bolts there are two other 10mm bolts, one to the right (driver side, vise versa for passenger side) and another one right under the headlight... (bumper must be removed to acess these)
good luck with it

First, if the haze is from the inside, which I doubt, you need to remove the headlight (you need to remove bumper to reach the other bolts) and bake it in an oven. I'm not sure about the temperature and time, but I think it was around 250F for about 12 minutes (NOT SURE). Then you pry open the housing.
Second, if the haze is from the outside (which I tihnk it is), WET sand the lense (not sure what grit) and then apply plastic polish and it should look brand new. Hope that helps

Try wetsanding and polishing the outside of the headlight first. Then take it off if that doesn't clear up the problem.
^^ He beat me to it.
