SRS light on . 01 Accord..
When you start your car, the SRS system goes through a self check. If there is something wrong, the light comes on, and the system deactivates. Start by checking your fuse.
What does SRS stand for and do you know which fuse to look at ? I lost my manual and it just tripped on today. Does this mean my airbags have been deactivated ?
Supplimentary Restraint System.
Your airbags will be affected depending on the code. It's dangerous for an untrained owner to diagnose an SRS problem. If you do the wrong thing you could die. Not trying to scare you, just trying to warn you.
But more than likely your drivers seat belt bucke has malfunctioned (electrical part), or you have a weak battery (or just replaced it).
If you don't have a battery problem I would swing it by a dealer and have them pull the code. If it is the buckle that will be covered under the Lifetime seatbelt warranty (all hondas have this). And your SRS computer is covered by an 8 year 80,000 mile warranty. So you should be ok.
Let me know what you find out.
Good Luck
