Only right speaker working with iPod into aux...
My buddy just got his head unit installed and everything was fine, untill we go to plug in the ipod to the aux input. The Aux on this head unit (panasonic) is 2 plugs (red/white) just like the pre-outs and stuff. It works and sounds good, but it only plays through the right speakers. Checked the EQ and everything, and tried different songs but still happens. I made sure everything was plugged tight too. I used a cable with gold connectors i got from best buy for 10 dollars....
Any ideas what might be the problem?

make sure you used a stereo headphone jack it will have three sections, then check to make sure your headphone jack to rca isnt bad, hook up a different mp3 player,or if you have acess to a dom meter used to check continuity between the sections and the rca,if i remember, the tip is left, middle is right and last section is ground ,if you missing continuity on one of those you found your problem, also make sure you pushed the head phone jack in all the way, good luck
so check it out....the red pluginto the red side of the aux worked, which is the right speaker side. the white side is what didn't work. so i plugged the red plug (from the ipod) into the white side of the aux input, and the left speakers came on.
so, the problem must be a fucked up cable, correct?
