Default Autolock, best pedal to place it on?

This thread will hopefully help determine the ideal pedal to place the auto lock on on a manual transmission car. Which is the best? Also, if you put it on the clutch, is starting the car capable by just pressing the little clutch switch that your pedal hits when it is depressed? I was told you can but I do not believe it to be true as I have never heard such a thing. Please let me know so we can all get this straightened out. Thanks everyone.

Is it possible to start the car without pressing the full pedal down and just hitting the clutch safety switch???

Put it on the pedal that can't be cut by a hacksaw.

First off, your tutorial site is A-Mazing. I want to say thank you for that as it was a VERY good read last night. I know every security measure can be countered, but the thing is to make it take longer time to get past things. Legistically speaking, since I am going to run this to slow the process down, which pedal would be the best to put it on if the device wasnt dismantled? Thats all Im asking guys.

Thanks. Love your avatar.

Some of my security measures can only be countered by an electric saw. That's assuming that the thief has intimate knowledge of the car's security, some basic wiring skills, and a good 15-20 minutes (assuming the owner is out of range of the 2 way page).

Thank you also, if you had a choice though, saying under the circumstances no tools were involved or the tools at hand could not disble the device, what pedal do you think is best to put it on? Im just curious on peoples opinion here. Thanks again brotha, real quick off topic question though. Your tutorial, I had deja vu when I went to it from a link posted here...has that tutorial site been around for years or am I thinking of something else. I remember someone has posted it years and years back in around 02/03 on my old forum home, escortracing.com, is it true that you have had that up for a long time now? I never thought I would see the king of security on a honda forum though, I thought you would have taken a step above everyone else and bought a domestic.. hehe

Thieves don't have to use Clubbusters or hacksaws to defeat the Autolock...

I would suggest putting the Autolock on the clutch pedal. A manual car can be started and driven without having to fully press down on the brake pedal.

Started the site last year. 4 versions. Each new version has been slightly less shitty than the last. It hasn't made a dent in the amount of "help, my car got stolen" posts, and most people want to pay someone else to do it even though it's a DIY. But it's there for the few people out there that are like me.

"king of security" (don't call me that king-of-pop ****) belongs on a Honda/Acura forum since those have been the most stolen vehicle 3+ years running. Replacing the Toyota Camry.. I wouldn't say I'm "on" these forums but I do "visit" them more than I should.

I don't know what you meant by that crack about domestics. I wish there was a good domestic car that I could be proud of. An American company could make a superior car, but it wouldn't sell very well. There just isn't a market here. All my overweight, ignorant, racist, *****-envy-ing, American bretheren want Stupid Useless Vehicles or 5 liter 200 hp pieces of **** that corner like a Radio Flyer (roll over) and that can't brake literally to save your life. Even our "super cars" are super pieces of crap aka Dodge Viper. The companies here count their pennies, cheat their workers (actually they cheat their workers in Mexico), they can't be trusted to issue recalls when it's appropriate, nay, a moral requirement to do so. As soon as an American company makes a double wishbone (safety, performance), AWD, alternative fuel (it's about ******* time), light weight, safe, reliable, compact, 100+hp per liter, high revving, 4 cylinder, sequential shift, ULEV, high gas mileage, with projector headlights, I'll be the first to put two in my garage and fill my portfolio with their stocks. Until that day, I will continue to drive Toyotas and early nineties Hondas that were, *gasp, MADE IN AMERICA (not Mexico).

If you can keep a Ford Escort on the road more than it's on the jack stands, that's quite an accomplishment. Especially if it's modified. ...I used to watch them rally..

I'm being ridiculous.

Christ what a reply.LOL Actually, the escort isnt on jackstands, it just doesnt start up thats all. Its a neutral safety switch, nothing wrong with the motor, just trying to find someone that knows how to bypass it so I wont have to spend $250 on a new part. The only way to keep the little escorts running is with a good motorswap. The BP-T GTX motor from Japanese 323 hatches are what the community mainly uses to swap in. Its a mazda motor that has some *****, 180hp stock turbo 1.8. Same design as the American BP 125hp n/a motor..but all the internals are upgraded etc. The reason I said "King", was because your the only individual I have ever seen put time into making an online security DIY public site. Others may be experienced as well, but the only person I know that knows their stuff as per example is you. Thank you for the site as it was well written, not shitty. Only thing you could use is better graphics, and who knows, maybe if you asked me I could do some for you.
