starting problem

Default starting problem

car isnt starting. i checked the battery, and starter. when i try to start the car, i hear a clicking sound (i think its from the main relay) and all the lights on the gauge cluster turn on, but thats it. can someone help me out? thanks

I'm in the same boat as you. My car wont start up. It wont even crank.

THE CAR WONT CRANK EITHER. IVE TRIED REPLACING THE STARTER, MAIN RELAY, AND BATTERY. IM PRETTY SURE THAT THE FUEL PUMP IS PRIMING BECAUSE I HEAR A HUMMING NOISE WHEN I TURN THE KEY. COULD IT BE THE IGNITION SWITCH? THANKS FOR THE RESPONSES.

if you have replaced all that you may want to have a look at your ignition switch.

but could the ignition switch keep the motor from cranking?

yes the igintion switch will stop the car from even trying to cranck over. i have had to go through many igintion switchs.

the switch is connected to the starter...if is bad it won't send the signal over to the starter. there for it will not cranck. you may want to check yyour starter and make sure everything is connected.


If you have all ready replaced everything then you may need to buy a new iginition switch.
