Default would this need machine work?

i have 2001 h22a4 block, i wanted to put type s pistons and forged rods in, the pistons will be std bore, would i have to get my block machined to install the rods and pistons?

Shouldn't have to. Make sure the type S pistons are the correct size though.

Go to the essential links and read up on the type s pistons.

If your cylinders are scratched, you may need a hone or possibly a bore. If they're in good shape - and you make sure the pistons are the same size - you should be good to go.
