I went to a Burke Lake meet a few years ago, I wouldnt look at it like that. I had a good time, and met some nice people.

If you go, dont open your hood or tell anyone what sort of alarm system you have. Cover the VIN plate also. Should be good that way. Been to a couple of these before and some nice rides do show up, i remember a ferrari of some sort one time.

If you're gonna go and keep the hood closed, cover the VIN and leave your alarm active, don't go.

I went to my last CSi Burke Lake meet because an entire clique of ITR drivers left there alarms on and got quite pissy when I walked past most, and stop and looked at another, at which point the @$$ of an owner decided to 'chirp' his alarm at me. You don't want to go and contribute to the fun, info-sharing environ, then sit it out. I can't stand most of the holier-than-thou people in NoVa to begin with, and you're one more I don't need to meet.

Yeah, spelling out the location of the meet is not really a sound thing to do.

As much as I like to meet new people, most of our meets in Bangor, Maine are need-to-know basis. Better safe than sorry.

I've been to a couple meets at Burke Lake where my best friend has organized them from the start. The people that show up are a good crowd, all friends and safe. The last time, there was a couple turbo Honda's and a bike that felt the need to show off and pull a rev on the scene.

No matter where you go, there will always be an idiot! Ussually if you just ignore them, they will get the hint and roll.

I'm sorry if you had a bad experience at BL with a snippy TYPE-R owner. Just understand, w/o any introductions, we won't know who most onlookers are. Don't take it personal. If I were there, I'd be more than happy to introduce myself and help you out.

Too bad I work that Saturday.....

Thanks,
Victor Perri II

If it makes any difference, I belive most of the R crowd that was attending that day came in from Maryland, and, well, I'd hate myself if I lived in Maryland too, so I can understand why they'd be a bit attitudal. What I can't deal with is posers. People who are there for the look, rather than the love...as sappy as that sounds.

Well, if all of the "R owners" weren't getting their cars jacked, we'd probably be a little more relaxed.

Hey Tim, I see where u are getting at. It can get annoying with the alarms going off all the time. I don't know everyone but i'm very friendly I like going to car meets and see all kinds of cars and meet all kinds of people. But there's a group of people too who are trouble makers who likes to show off and like do burnouts.
