My newest purchase...**Super Clean 91 Eclipse GSX** (old school)
so i saw this kid advertising this car for sale on one of the local forums...
as you can see...the paint on this is 100% perfect. the girl who owned it had a father who owned a body shop. he repainted the car about 6 months ago...
unfortunately...for her...(and fortunately for me)...she failed to check the oil...and had engine failure at 80mph on i95. she then sold the car for 500.00 to some kid...who decided not to rebuild it...and sold it to me for 1100.00. considering the car's condition, i was prepared to spend up to 1600 for the car.
here are some pics...

oem fog lights...

clear taillights...which look brand new.

oem leather interior, oem leather steering wheel, oem leather shift ****, oem air conditioning, perfect condition dash...

bone stock motor...gotta love it. including the wiring harness...

i'm going to leave the roxy sticker...in tribute to the previous owner...who kept it so clean for 30k miles.

old school awd sticker...

Nice pickup
I must be getting old b/c I don't think that qualifies as "Old Skool". Also leaving a tribute for the person that blew up the motor? OK. Well good luck with it. $1100.00 for shell seems a bit high to me but then again I'm not well versed on DSM's.

the car is 15 years old...
i could be wrong...but i've always felt like late 80's/early 90's is old school.

Yea I'm not saying that it can't be considered old school but those cars were still being sold new when I was in high school
. I guess I just don't like admitting to myself I'm that old.

they have to be maintained properly.
i've had my colt/mirage turbo for 3 years (running 20psi, beating the hell out of it) and i've never had a mechanical issue. the only issue...which was the fault of the clutch...was a failing clutch master cylinder.
i had a fwd turbo with 240k miles on it...which i sold for 2000 dollars...which went 13.0@110mph and made 283whp. the bottom end had the ORIGINAL rods/pistons/bearings and didn't burn a single drop of oil. it didn't smoke and the previous owner learned to use aem by tuning the car...which he admits had a horrible tune for 1-2 months.
most people have issues because these cars are so old and or the mechanic working on the car is simply unfamiliar with the issues they have.
once i put this car together properly, i'll drive it problem free for 2+ years without worrying about any types of failure.

i don't like the color either...but given its condition the color is beginning to grow on me.
