Default Help With Tire mounting

Does anyone have any links for tire mounting procedures? I am having some problems sealing the bead on a set of 19's.

so you have the tire physically on the rim correct? but when you put air in it it won't "pop" up on to bead? how much air are you putting into it?

Yes the tire is on the wheel but no matter what I try air gets by the bead. I am using a shop compressor at work. It puts out 150psi max.

is it very close to the bead of the wheel where it is just about to seat then won't go anymore? Also what size tire is it?

No, it won't seat at all. I tried various methods but in one spot air always gets by. Even after spinning the tire on the rim air gets by in various places. Its a Renn Tech Wheel tire size 245/35-19.

lube the bead up good. make sure the bottom part of the valve stem isn't on the way of the bead. what I usually do is that I break the beads down again and have a buddy raise the bottom part of the tire at all sides then put air in.

Make sure you didn't rip the bead while mounting the tire on the wheel.

Yup. The tire was ripped by the valve stem. After removing the tire I also noticed a label on the inside of the wheel (tire side) that was scrapped off somewhat. The tire should have originally been mounted with the wheel upside down. The wheel was on a Benz SL 65.
