Default K20 swap and Cross-country Trip

Note: Scroll to the bottom of my post for the start of the swap.

Id been to Cali twice before and really enjoyed it and had planned on doing a K swap for awhile now, so when my buddy ryan (droppedcrxsi, Rywire) offered me to come chill down in Cali with him for awhile I jumped at the chance, also getting away from the shitty canadian weather would be great. I worked hard for 5 months to save up enough money for the swap and all the misc things needed, along with the other stuff id been collecting for almost a year now.
Ryan flew up to Toronto the day after Christmas, arrived 6am and by 2pm we were making final preparations to the car

the idea being that the plastic would protect the carbon fibre hood for our
3000 mile journey that would take us thru Detroit, Chicago, St Louis, Tulsa, Texas, Arizona, New Mexico and then upto Vegas to spend a few days with Nikitad (Thanks!) before arriving in norcal for new years. Needless to say the whole plastic over hood idea lasted about 3 streets before it started blowing away. Remarkably the hood remained perfect all the way to California before it got its first ding, thanks in part to having perfect weather all the way down, no snow, rain or traffic until we hit a storm 3 hours from home. Between Vegas and norcal we made a quick stop in LA to pick up wheels id purchased from "euy" (great guy to deal with, has been modding imports when most of us were still in diapers)
Some pictures on the way down:

Driving through missouri we spotted this billboard lol

K Swap:

Parts I have or have ordered:

JDM K20 with LSD/4.765 FD complete changeover
Hasport/DSS stage 1 axles (yes i know they suck)
Hasport EFK mounts
Hasport rad fan switch adaptor
Fuel system, golden eagle rail, fittings, fpr etc
DTR/SSR 4-2-1 header
EP3 idler pulley, bracket and belt
Misc hoses
Karcepts shiftbox
Slim fan
Heeltoe auto lightweight battery
Bracket for battery
Hondata intake manifold gasket
Fullrace traction bar etc

Parts I need:
Hondata K-PRO
Dodge Neon non-AC rad

A few days later we were ripping out my old D16A6, which burned less than an 1/8th of a quart of oil the whole 3000 miles, all of that doing 65-85 the whole way.

Cleaning the rust proofing and dirt from the engine bay

Looks like a fun trip. You should invest in some liquid bra if you are worried about the hood

Try to plan it when the forecast is good, take a buddy with you, some music, make sure the car is in good shape or else you might get stuck in the middle of nowhere

Well, I believe I drank at least 15 tall cans of energy drink!! Never in my wildest dreams did I think that there were that many different kinds!

I thought the NOS brand was clever, and the Monster is always a good one, I really like the one in the camo can

haha how did you wire yours up, they are already in the doors with the cards, ryan used an NRG battery and some wire in the car when we needed to roll the windows down... how did you wire yours up to work with the auto up etc?

I don't think there is an auto up option just the auto down which is built into the switch itself... just push the switch down till it clicks.. I have a diagram i just need to host the pic
