ODB0 DIZZY QUESTION Help plz
okay so im throwing CEL code 08. Which means TDC position. Aka dizzy possibly went bad.
I have a ODB0 B18a motor in my 91 si.
The question I have is, can i use my D-series OBD0 dizzy on my B-series motor?
Probably not, but JUST wanted to make sure before i went and bought a new dizzy.
Thanks

thay are slightly different. one is mounted deeper, not sure which one right now though. i have a b18a dizzy for sale that has a broken leg but works fine.
yes it will work, i have a 89 crx si dizzy on my 91 integra right now only problem is only the top bolt lines up and you cant advance it to the full 16 degrees maybe if you slot the hole a little more. i think it went to about 13-14 degrees

well b16a1's (I'm guessing that is what you have) are 15 degrees +- 2 degrees so if you can advance 13 degrees you would still be all good. Also I thought I heard you can take d series dizzies and take one of the legs of or something to advance full 15, not sure though about this though.

i mean if its the stock dizzy for that motor with a leg broken, o well, 2 bolts still hold it on just fine, but **** ive seen some people with a sohc dizzy on a dual and its upside down and whatnot, just junk.
i have a b16a and its throwing a Code 8 as well, im thinking my timing is off. I got the timing gun out and checked and the tick marks are nowhere to be seen. but then again it can be my dizzy being too retarded.. literally.
ahaha thats funny man! Ahah yeah mine is fucked up. Can you tell me exactly what your car does? from starting it up til its warmed up? noises, spuddering etc? I would appreciate it!
well as soon as the car is warmed up and is idling at normal operating temperature the CEL comes on. If I keep my idle at about 1.5-2.0rpm the light won't come on. When the light is on there is VTEC won't engage. so its probably different for a b18a.. Sputtering and sluggish response is your dizzy. Does your car feel like crap after 3,000 RPM?
My car feels great until its warmed up, then the valves start ticking and it has no power below 3000rpm. After that its usually fine.. Its very weird. Its a rebuilt motor, so it must be the dizzy.
Could this be the reason why im losing oil since my timing is all fucked up? Since the rebuild is less than 5k with oem rings.. I hope its not the rings not being seated cause its been over 2k miles

you may not be getting enough spark before 3k then maybe? maybe off a couple teeth? also it won't be a bad idea to check your spark plugs, do the screwdriver test and check it out. and if its just shitty get another distributor to last you another half year, honda dizzy's suck.
im not sure what the screwdriver test is, i know the plugs are new. But not sure how to test the bitch when im not very knowlegable on dizzys. Im a n00b at dizzys.. its sad i know..

anyway ive pm'd u. good luck
