removing crank

have everything i can see to take off off, someone mentioned "caps" what the **** is a cap, and does the balancer have to come off, car is an 89 civic dx d15

by balancer do u mean crank pulley, and if so then yes it haas to come off. And there are 5 main caps that hold the crank in. also the front seal/oil pump and rear seal has to be removed also.
