alright, i changed the leaking clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder. bleed it properly and everything. works fine after i bleed it and goes into gears smoothly, and everything is PERFECTLY fine. then after like 10-20 minutes of driving it, it gradually gets all retarded, it starts to get harder and harder to put it in gear til the point where i have to use all my strength just to put it in gear. and at a stop, the car would move foward when my foot is all the way on the clutch and its in gear and im not giving it gas at all, the car also shakes when im at a stop with the clutch all the way down and in gear. i let the car sit for awhile, take it out for a drive and samething happens, it smooth for a while then gets all retarded. does this sound like a faulty master or slave cylinder, or a messed up clutch? it's an upgraded clutch, if that helps any. please help me.

you'll probably have to replace both, they are cheap anyways, honda oem.

try using a vacuum pump on the bleeder, thats what i had to do when i did my swap
By the way, when your car is moving in gear with the clutch disengaged, your slipping......not good

im in the same boat with you man. i have had the same thing for the past year and a half going on with my car. Ive learned to live with it but it will end up costing me this winter as i have to tear the trans out and replace the 2nd gear shift fork and some synchros. While im at it im also gonna replace the hose to the slave with one of the inline 4 stainless braided hoses, new clutch and flyweel and the omni power clutch master.

and also, ive replaced about 2-3 clutch masters in the past 18 months and its still doing it. Ive also replaced the slave a couple times.

 

If you've got air bubbles coming out when you re-bleed it, you're obviously not bleeding it properly and completely the first time. Are you losing fluid in the resevoir? If so, you've got a leak. If not, you're just not getting all the air out of it. The bleeder should be toward the top of the slave cylinder as it's mounted...is it? Some clutches require a reverse-bleed tool to get all the air out.

Could also be a fucked clutch.

well, i ordered brand new oem master and slave cylinder off ebay for 60, and hopefully after i install this, it'll be all good again. do you guys think so?

i'll make sure to tell you if it does, im really praying that it is a faulty master cylinder because i have no alternative car and i just don't have the time or the money to replace the clutch.

Have you checked the rubber line that runs from the fluid tank to the master cylinder? I found out mine was leaking, a lot of air was getting in that way.

$6 for an OEM one from Majestic Honda, or do what I did and use some 1/4" fuel line hose (won't last more than a few months with the brake fluid though).

i made sure it was in place, and if it wasn't wouldn't it NOT be driving perfectly fine in the first 10 minutes?
