I have a 94 accord ex and CEL started coming today. The light goes off once I switch off and restart. I checked the code and it is 22. It says vtec pressure valve. Could anyone tell me what does it means? If the valve is bad why the light goes off. I changed the timing belt (91000 miles) 2 days back. Today I took it carwash and the light started come after the wash

Could be the valve, or a sensor, or even wires. You would have to test them to find out which one. Have a service manual?

 

what is the oil level in the car?

sometimes it will throw that code if the oil level gets low and there is no pressure in the VTEC switch

 

Never Never wash the car again!!! that always causes a CEL. LOL
Check your oil, if that isn't the problem repost for some more help

 

Oil level is ok. I have ordered a vtec pressure switch (from Honda) and expect to receive it on Tuesday or wednesday. I will let you know whether this resolves the problem.
