Default 10k Mark Up in So Cal

Well im about to put my deposit down on a black Si thats going to be delivered in a couple months at Elk Grove Honda or Carmichael Honda.. But I asked my Dad to check and see is he could get a better deal over in So Cal where he lives (I was already quoted MSRP).... Anyway.... he gets to the stealership and they are asking 30K for the SI!!!!!!! That is ******* stupid!!! If any idiot comes on here and says that they paid that much I am going to personally drive to their house and SLAP THE SHIET OUT OF THEM!!! I dont mind waiting a month or 2 to get the color and price that I want...12 months from now its not even gonna matter... Just my 2 cents

Just remember, they can ask what they want all day long. I just hope no one would be stupid enough to pay that kind of mark up.

They'll always find some idiot to pay it..

I got mine (Fiji Blue Pearl) for $20,540.00 two days ago. It was the first one that dealership has gotten, so time will tell if they will continue the no mark-up ways..

The other dealer in our area has one, but they said they want to "deck" it out before selling, so some poor sap is going to pay for them to install options..

in alhambra (socal) markup is around 2,500 on the new Si's. I was there on saturday at Goudy Honda. They had around 4-5 Si's on the lot.

I didn't opt for any of the extras; I'm notorious for replacing options with aftermarket, so I might as well start with a blank slate..

And I live in DE, there's no possible way to get lost, so Navi wasn't on my mind ..

i actually work at a dealership and you would actually be surprised at the people that will pay half of the mark up just to say that they were the first one to have that car in there area. i dont work for honda but for a cadillac and dodge dealership. we got in an srt-8 charger and it was marked up 10,000 to 15,000 and we got in a couple of cadillac xlr's and they marked those up 10,000 each saying that its due to low volume of those cars being built but no one has paid that price they do it just to see if you will pay it.

I saw one in NOVA for 24k with no navi. Me and my girl just looked at the salesman and laughed.

"Markup" .......I don't even want to pay MSRP, just wait six months and get it for invoice. They always do this when a new model comes out. They did it with the S2000 and they did it with the EP. Besides the first-two years are when a brand new car takes the biggest hit.

I wonder if these cars are going to be the most stolen, just like the 99-00 Si's were. After all it's the same concept, you can swap all the parts to the base model coupe and sedan. I guess only time will tell.

Thats why I'm glad I got EBP when we bought the Si; they get stolen too, but b/c the lower models don't come in that color, it seems in our area that most of the stolen Si's were the black and red ones (since all the body parts would also match the ex, lx, etc.. without repainting) Thats not to say the engine wouldn't disappear..Thank God for a garage (which is where both of our Si's stay at night)..
