96 ex half shaft stick question- spline is longer than the original on hub side???/
96 accord ex- purchased a rebuilt half shaft from honda but the hub side of the shaft is splined all the way about 3 inches wheras on the rebuilt shaft it is only splined about an inch or so, and the rest is perfectly machined smooth.
Anyone know the difference? Is this shaft really for an Automatic?
Are they used interchangeably??
The shaft that is in my car is the original??
Passenger SIDE

Sorry. The original shaft is only splined about 1 inch and the rest is machined.
The rebuily part fom honda is splined the whole length of about 3 inches.
Question: Should I take it back or are they used interchangably....
(maybe you can use the automatic shaft on the manual but not the manual on the automatic. Any advice greatly appreciated. Car is on stands at the moment- would like to put it back together....
Thanks

I do not believe that the can be. If it is the replacement part and you are 100% sure it is the right one, you should be able to use it without any troubles
I just found out I have been given the wrong part number ie I have been given the driver's side...... !!
Answered by own question..... Thanks anyhow
