Default Honda Wiring Elite Needed

I have a 91 CRX standard model (not si, not hf). It has a b18b in it, the wiring harness must be out of an SI crx (mpfi...). Unfortunately ive come across some trouble. The very thick white wire that comes out of the ECU on the bottom right corner (C18 i think). I looked up the wiring diagram and it told me that it was the O2 sensor that runs into the headers. The wiring harness was a mess from god knows what the guy did to it before me. So I just ran a wire individually from there and spliced it right into the ecu. Then i tried to start it up, and now all i hear is clicking from the guage cluster... or somewhere in that area. So i put the wire back, and it is still doing it. What wire did i fudge up, and what should i do?

first of all you cant put an si (mpfi) engine harness on a standard (dpfi) car it wont work. i dont see why your car wouldnt atleast turn over. i would check the grounds and battery connections and try do avoid cutting wires its all bad. are you sure you cut only c18?

C16 is the o2... its not the reason that your car wont start... possibly are you looking at the plug wrong? You need to read with the clip side up, and look from the wire side(see colors of wires)

I know a lot of people that have put the mpfi wiring harness into the dpfi CRX. Of course they used the mpfi ecu and put an mpfi engine with correct distributor in as well. I see no reason why they couldn't have done that. Yes, C16 is the only one I cut. The car ran before I cut it, now it doesn't even turn over. I will have to double check the grounds. I've decided to rip out my dash and just hard wire everything I need into the dash. So, I will be wiring a speedo, tach, fuel, and temp for now. Any suggestions on how to do that?

This is why a MPFI wiring harness can't be used in a non-mpfi chassis - The shock tower connections are different, they don't mate up.

stupid question because i have never done this conversion before...i wont be a dx...

but, couldnt you put the mpfi engine harness on and re-pin the shock tower harness for the engine harness clip? and they add the two wires for the other injectors to the clip?

kinda like how you repin the distributor harness for a zc swap...
