Default D-series header comparison!

*IVE SEARCHED*
-Now with that out the way, ive been looking around and kind of want to "compare" some headers before i go out and buy one, now i should be picking up a del sol soon (new one) with a D16Z6. so ill be installing one on there.

-As for the headers, ive looked at the following:

SMSP-$600-700
DC sports 4-1-$300
Megan Racing-$150
Greddy 4-2-1-$350
DC sports 4-2-1-$300

-Now, some may say...."how can you compare these headers, like SMSP and Megan?" And the answer is "CUZ EYE KAN!!!"
-I would like to know if anybody may have a couple dyno charts besides what i have seen so far, maybe a couple more suggestions? pros....cons. you know, just over all thoughts and opinons

-As for the motor(on the car i hope im getting), it has installed, intake and exhuast. and the car will be daily driven and not looking for a full out race car. just a nice header to help the car perform a little better. and my other goal is for this thread to help out others in this situation TIA-

i thought kamikaze was the header of choice for supercharged applications? they have 1 with a 2.5" collector just for that.

What exhaust... rather, when is your exhaust supposed to be making power. IE, midranged power or high end power.

Needless to say there's not much of a difference in performance between headers on a DD D series engine. My WSII makes power high end, so I complimented that with my DCsports 4-1 headers. I couldn't be happier.

Between the reasonably priced, streetable headers that allow you to retain AC, there is maybe 1 hp difference. On a street car, peak hp numbers are not a priority. The header with the highest peak hp gain will NOT be the fastest overall. Just get the best quality 4-2-1 within your budget. Chikara, DC, whatever.

i dont know if they still make HPracing headers but they were good to me when i had them. i dont have a dyno chart but i got good times with my setups when i had the headers.

88 crx si, stock motor, leaking headgasket, 160k, ebay short ram and muffler - 16.0 flat. same setup but added the header and 15.6 the next raceday. 2.4 0-60

92 civic vx, d16z6 and tranny, ebay intake, hp racing header, greddy catback - 15.5. added a zex cam and 15.4 the next raceday but with different tires. 2.5 0-60 with kuhmo 712's

Some of us live in Atlanta, and our cars NEED air conditioning. 25mph average in traffic on a 95 degree day, you'll be willin to spend the money to get it put back in.

The SMSP D-series header allows retention of A/C.

if you are looking for a dacent header just to use on your daily driver then I would just buy the dc sports header. your not looking to make big power or to race so why spend the big money.

very true, the kamikaze header is in the same price range too, just in case i would want to throw on a JRSC ill have a header built for that, ya know?! so i may just go with that.
