i konw its a pretty old school technigque buch i much prefer it over bondo/marsons/everglass

i would be using to to smooth some firewall stuff, some shaved molding, few minor dings and the roof rails.... thoughts?

Hey man...not being a smartass but I went to school for auto body and shaving the roof seams is a terrible idea..yes it will look a lot cleaner but when the car "flexes" the roof will actually crack...Ive seen many people do it...and where your filler ends (where the seam is shaved) it will eventually crack...and its a huge bitch to fix...good luck man...

if its done with something like lead (which hardens like metal, cos it is, lol) then it wont be a problem... it will become a structural part of the car as long as the base metal is tinned, im talking about its use mostly for like adding into small dents and such, firewall, etc.

i will, im going to get some uber fucked body panels from my neighbor and practice on them first beofre i even touch my car.... the nice part is the new stuff is lead free so it can be sanded unlike the old stuff

the new stuff isnt lead, in all honesty im not sure what it is... its a lead free 30/70 mix but i havent been able to find out what.... the body is steel, it will bond

for roof channels you weld metal over it and finish, just like moldings

be careful though, roofs are thin and warp VERY easily
